10/13/16 Netflix DVD.
Engrossing, difficult to watch, beautifully filmed this is a war story rarely told. The story of the losing side civilian population struggling to survive and find some safe connection to family and the past. The filmmaker does a great job of making the viewer feel the fear, pain, anxiety and deprivation of Lore and her siblings. The arrival of Thomas only adds to Lore's confusion and conflict. I can understand why it was an Academy Award submission.
