Review of Lord of War (2005) by Remi L — 09 Mar 2011
I've seen this movie and still can't get over how good it is. Nicolas Cage plays this charismatic arms dealer who details the power and influence of weapons in the world to the film's audience while also dodging criminal indictment from the global community. He has no moral obligations to the innocent people killed by the dictators who buy his guns and in fact has a justification for everything.
And aside from the deep message about the pervasiveness of the weapons industry, this film is Nicolas Cage at his best. When he lures you in with his charm and keeps you enthralled with the film. Films like this are the reason I'm still a Nicolas Cage fan, because every now and then he springs one of these on you. I highly recommend this film if you enjoy a good thought-provoking drama.
