Review of Lord of the Flies (1963) by Gary P — 25 Jan 2007
A group of children become stranded on a desert island with no adults to help them. They start out with a firm belief in rules and order but soon these rules fall apart and the group devolve into chaos.
The tagline for this film was "Evil is inherent in the human mind, whatever innocence may cloak it..." and I think that is quite perfect for it, although I believe that good and evil is only defined by our societies rules.
Once those rules are abandoned chaos reins. A brilliant sinister film.
