Unlike 1996's cute but uninspired SPACE JAM, LOONEY TUNES: BACK IN ACTION is 92 minutes of pure, goofy, silly, laugh out loud fun. In many ways it resembles WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT, but director Joe Dante manages to keep the pace fast and frantic while evoking laughs from both youngsters and adults.

The live-action co-stars fare adequately (although Steve Martin jars as the stereotypical villain), but it's the Looney Tunes who are the real heroes of the picture. Particularly memorable moments include Elmer chasing Bugs and Daffy through various portraits at an art museum and a "lightsaber" duel between Bugs and Marvin the Martian.

Still, while not an instant classic, LOONEY TUNES: BACK IN ACTION provides a wonderful opportunity for the Looney Tunes to grace the silver screen.
