Review of Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003) by Greg R — 11 Dec 2018
The main plus is when the Looney Tunes are in the picture, they really do shine. Unfortunately, the movie isn't exactly about the Looney Tunes as you would hope to expect. The movie is really about the live action characters where as the Looney Tune characters practically admit they are just there to tell some jokes.
To be fair, the movie does seem to acknowledge its plot is purposely B.S-ing itself and its also a mockery of action movies from the 90s and early 2000's so at least its self aware humor is surprisingly kind of reassuring.
As a whole, its a tough call to say If I recommend it but its also hard for me to say I didn't appreciate the passion and dedication Joe Dante and the rest of the people on board had for finally bringing the Looney Tunes to the big screen (in a movie thats not a compilation of shorts or based on a 90's NIKE's commercial).
