Review of Looking for Richard (1996) by Christopher B — 18 Jun 2008
An engaging study of the relevance and understanding of Shakespeare in the modern world. But what really pushed my rating up to four stars on this one were the scenes of the actors' approaches to the text.
An early scene in which Pacino is trying a line in several different ways is simply magical; the actor becomes the character right before your eyes with no change of costume make-up or special effects.
