Review of Lonesome Jim (2005) by Louis F — 06 Nov 2008
Very smart script, a little too smart at times if that makes any sense.
Like, it almost feels like some precocious english major script, like someone had a book about how to write a script and hit all the major points, but, I mean, that shouldn't be a dig, it's just that the film has an incredibly real feeling to it and the over arching dramatic film fixtures gave it an artificial feeling at times.
Like the end, I wasn't so happy with the ending.
That being said, I needed to see this film right now, I haven't felt this close to a character in a film since I saw "Harold and Maude".
Exactly where I'm at.
Great acting and very funny, I think Mr. Buscemi could've tightened up some of the scenes, give it a lttle more oompha because at times the energy did seem to drag, but, again, great acting and very funny.
I'll definitely watch it again.
