Review of Lonely Hearts (2006) by Gabriel P — 19 Feb 2008
Well it was for sure an interesting take on the Ray Fernandez and Martha Beck story. Hollywood certainly glamorized the character of Martha Beck, as in real life she was reported to be between 250-300lbs. and Salma Hayek is far from that. They also left out a few of the other known facts in the case, even with this being said I did like to see it from the perspective of the main detective on the case, Elmer C. Robinson, whom John Travolta played well.
Worth a look, but if you want a more accurate account of the "Lonely Heart Killers" check out the film 'The Honeymoon Killers.'.
