Review of Lone Wolf McQuade (1983) by Ben W — 30 Mar 2008
I don't know if this is typical 80's movie style but it feels more like a 70's film. For once Chuck Norris' acting isn't to corny. Chakote from S/T Voyager has a side part in this film and dramatically over-acts. Oh it looks like beer is to Chuck as spinach is to Popeye (yes I am still watching it, 20mins to go).
The fighting is not great, but I think the west had not figured out how to make a martial arts film that well then, or at least this film crew didnt know. I think I prefer Sidekicks but I cant get a hold of a copy right now.
The music is to dramatic in most scenes, but not all, but most.
The great thing about this film is it has David Carradine AND Chuck Norris (i guess that is to the 80's what the recent Jackie Chan/Jet Li production of Forbidden Kingdom is today).
I really wish I could direct Chuck Norris in a movie, I think I could bring a great actor and screen martial artist out of him but I have not seen enough of his films yet, so lets see after I have (and he is 68!).
I am looking forward to the fight scene at the end of this movie between CN and DC, so lets hope its a gooden.
