Review of Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance (1972) by James P — 02 Aug 2007
The series of Lone Wolf and Cub (Babycart) movies are legendary. Based on a manga of the same name they chronicle the travels and adventures of Lone Wolf and his son in their search to exact revenge for the killing of his wife/mother.
The movies were done in the early 70s, but they stand the test of time very well. The action is over the top and there is a tonne of blood....but man is it great viewing. All six films in the series just get bloodier as they go on.
The final movie has Lone Wolf and Cub facing off against a small army attacking them on sleighs on the side of a snow covered moutain. Check them out...you will not be disappointed. Fact: The actor playing Lone Wolf was actually the main Yakuza boss in Black Rain.
