Review of Lone Survivor (2013) by Russell G — 12 May 2015
A viscerally affecting account if a doomed SEAL action in the face of overwhelming, fanatical attacks by zealous Taliban enemies numbering hundreds to each SEAL. The mindblowing realism and humanity of this film had me on the edge of my seat for the duration after the op begins.
At the end I was SO emotionally affected that I just stood at attention and saluted as the end notes ran, telling about the heroes who died during Operation Redwing. I've watched it over 20 times, yet it never fails to arouse these feelings in me.
I feel as though I lost buddies that I'd never met.
