Review of London to Brighton (2006) by Tibor B — 01 Jun 2010
Unpleasant grim and very foul mouthed example of British filmmaking, here taking a backdrop of low-life gangsters and child prostitution for a tale of two girls on the run from London, to obviously, Brighton.
The cast is strong, and Williams' script and direction does create some effective moments at times but it didn't quite have enough originality to overcome its tired and boring premise, and call me naive but I found putting a child character in the centre of these events plain distasteful and thoughtlessly provocative.
