Review of London Boulevard (2010) by Stan H — 27 Nov 2010
A perfect brit movie, reminiscent of Get Carter. Colin Farell is very good in the role as a bad person whose outgrown a much worse world, to become an enlightened better person. He is a good enough actor to portray a sense of desperation and loss, especially with the face.
I've thought he was quite skilled indeed since seeing 'In Bruges (2008) and Cassandra's Dream (2007) for example. However he cannot be untangled from the world he has entered. The tragedy of it all is that it is all stupid and needless.
Much like Carlitos way, a chain of evil begetting revenge and a senseless outcome. The script does not offer a solution just a pessimistic outlook on the dark side of life and very entertaining it is too.
