Review of London Boulevard (2010) by Laszlo F — 07 Oct 2011
British thriller with Colin Farrell portraying Mitchel, a young man just released from prison, trying to avoid problems, however violence follows him against his will and he has to kill a gangster and his band in order to get his life straight and get together with the new girl in his life, a reclusive cinema star that has hired him as a bodyguard.
There is a considerable amount of violent scenes and that might be a bit of a stretch for some people, however is not free violence, it makes sense in between the context of London underworld. Ray Winstone plays the evil gangster for the umpteenth time while Keira Knightley smiles in her rather brief appearances.
It is all properly done and believable enough though the end is slightly unexpected. It is an average thriller, there isn't anything blatantly new but it is a far from predictable film.
