Review of Lolita (1962) by John P — 03 Jul 2008
Taboo, (mildly) titillating, and mischievously jubilant. All of the major roles were acted superbly. The second half of this adaptation was not as compelling as the first, however, and the pro-/epilogue could have been executed better.
Not among Kubrick's best work, but overall, I liked this version a little more than the 1997 remake.
