Review of Lolita (1962) by Bill W — 14 Jun 2011
It's amazing what Kubrick got away with in 1962. This whole movie is about something that's not on screen and not even mentioned in dialog. It's heartbreaking, funny, a little horrific and holds up amazingly well.
James Mason made me feel like a creep for sympathizing with him. Too bad my favorite director didn't control Peter Sellers' endless scenery chewing.
