Review of Lolita (1962) by Kenneth B — 29 Dec 2011
This is definitely the best old-man-lusting-after-a-younger-person film that I have seen. I can't quite get over how awful Venus was so perhaps there isn't much of a horse race unless I've missed something.
That aside Lolita is an involving film which although different in subject matter to much of his work remains quintessentially Kubrick. Great performances from Mason, Winters and Lyon but it is Peter Sellers who steals the show with a magnetic performance.
