Yeah, it's a good story but the acting (bar Ustinov's hamming) and the dialogue are generally atrocious. Very dated in so many ways, not just in SFX technology, but in its psychedelic free loving vibes.
Odd to think that there was an era in which THIS film won an Oscar for best visual effects - unless those visual effects were the skimpy outfits worn by Jenny Agutter.
