I live a very odd world and unfortunately to whom ever is reading this you do too. We live in a world were art is tampered with for the reasons such as scheduling, timing and so called decency. I am talking about TV re-editing or censoring.

Many years ago when I was in my early teens I was sat around one lazy Sunday flicking through the newspaper looking to see what was going to be on TV that afternoon. To my surprise the Sci-Fi classic Loganâ??s Run was going to be aired at the crazy time of 2pm! I had seen Loganâ??s Run before and new damn well that Jenny Agutter got naked half way into the film. I was fascinated to see how this would play out on this rainy Sunday afternoon. So I watched and to my utter disgust the shots featuring Miss Agutters breast had been cut. Now her breasts aside this movie is actually quite violent and is often very bleak but nothing else was cut. That poor woman displayed herself in that film only to have some fool at the BBC remove them from the film.

A year later the same thing happened again, BBC 2 this time. 7pm bank holiday screening and once again no boobs! I was a dorky teenager and a total nerd and I needed my movie nudity, Iâ??m sure many can relate. If this womanâ??s nudity was such an offense then why show the movie at all? Screen something else. This movie has a 12 certificate on DVD so why not play a PG rated movie if itâ??s that offensive then play it later on after 9pm in itâ??s intended glory. Itâ??s not brain surgery its just good sense.

We now jump many years to modern day, August bank holiday weekend 2010. Film Four was advertising Loganâ??s Run to be screened at 4:45pm on Saturday afternoon. My heart sank, would I have to relive my disappointment? You have to realize that although I am now 28 and getting married next year it is no longer about seeing boobies anymoreâ?¦ Itâ??s now a matter of principal.

So I sat and I watched... and I watched... and then... Oh my god! They showed the scene in full. At 5:45pm on Saturday evening I saw Jenny Agutters breasts... I felt like I had won some kind of rubbish unimportant battle without even doing anything. I turned it off after that. I'm not really much off a fan of the film. I just wanted to have some faith in broadcasting again. But this movie is awful and is far to stupid for me to give a fuck about it's message.

But now we live in a world were Logan's Run gets screened unedited before six O'clock at night but The Simpsons gets cut to hell just after six O'clock... It's the worst intrusive editing I have ever witnessed and yet life goes on... Shame really.
