Review of Logan's Run (1976) by Kevin R — 29 Jun 2010
You're beautiful. Let's have sex.
Logan resides in the future and is part of a society where humans are not allowed to live beyond 30. The Earth has suffered an apocalypse and Logan's society resides within a bubbled community. People are not allowed to leave the bubble and they are told horrible things will happen to them if they leave. Logan is a Sandman and he is responsible for collecting those who try to leave the bubble. However, when Logan receives a secret mission to leave the society, he is viewed as a runner and becomes the hunted.
"One is terminated and one is born. Simple, logical, perfect.".
Michael Anderson, director of Hell is Sold Out, Chase a Crooked Shadow, All the Fine Young Cannibals, Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze, Orca, and Summer of the Monkeys, delivers Logan's Run. The storyline for this picture is marvelous and well delivered. The settings are brilliant and the action scenes are wonderfully entertaining. The acting is solid and includes Michael York, Farrah Fawcett, Richard Jordan, and Roscoe Lee Browne.
"When you question, it slows you down.".
Logan's Run is a film my wife has wanted to add to our DVD collection for some time. I recently purchased this picture and was surprised how much I loved this movie. This picture reminded me of a cross between Flash Gordon and Free Jack. You need to be a fan of the sci-fi genre to enjoy this picture, but it is definitely worth your time. I strongly recommend seeing this film.
"It's my job to freeze you.".
