Review of Logan Lucky (2017) by Jacob B — 31 Mar 2018
No, this movie isn't about an Irish Wolverine. I think Logan Lucky isn't as good as everyone says it is. Maybe because it's my first Soderbergh movie. Yeah, that's it. The heist by itself is good, some of the jokes work and Seth MacFarlane's presence in this movie is the sole reasoning behind me wanting to see this movie although he only has three scenes.
But while it is somewhat fun, it didn't always work out for me. Some of the pacing was uneven with an ending that I felt like was padding out the runtime. The sense of humour didn't always work out for me.
And the only non-MacFarlane actor who really stood out for me was Daniel Craig. Never mind Magic Mike and Kylo Ren with Southern accents, James Blond seemed to be having the time of his life. Logan Lucky is lighthearted fun but I still can't shake the feeling that I could've been left with something more.
