Review of Logan Lucky (2017) by John K — 18 Aug 2017
Thoroughly enjoyable. A lot of fun to watch. Very well-crafted and well-acted.
The film is deftly directed by Soderbergh (he has done a similarly wonderful job in the directing of such films as Out of Sight, The Limey, Oceans 11, Traffic, Erin Brochovic). Rex Reed's comment about this film being about as "charming and welcome as toenail fungus" seems silly and errant. Reed must have been talking about Paul Thomas Anderson's films.
Adam Driver and Channing Tatum are great. I was apprehensive that Daniel Craig's accent was going to be too hammy and or irritating but it wasn't.
The screenplay/story by Blunt was witty and engaging.
Over all, a very fun movie to watch. Highly reccommended if you've enjoyed the abovementioned movies of Soderbergh and or if you are looking for something clever and fun and not too serious or demanding, and also basically not violent (I think there was one very brief fight scene in the film).
