Review of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) by John S — 09 Mar 2014
Richie's predecessor to his masterpiece Snatch is another absolute joy to watch. Like his other films it follows multiple interweaving story-lines in a smart, funny, and wondrous escapade. As in Snatch, Lock Stock effectively and efficiently blends so many elements of so many different genres: intensity, humor, despair, badassery- and this seamless mix is what elevates Lock Stock above your average film.
The characters and expert writing is what makes this film an absolute 5/5.
