Cringe-inducing take on low-budget filmmaking, with spot-on direction and a fantastic grip on its reality. Steve Buscemi excels a the well-meaning director trying to make a movie, but it is writer-director Tom DiCillo who's the real star for his biting, smart, funny cinematic observation.
