Review of Live Forever (2003) by Private U — 17 Aug 2008
Highly entertaining documentary, albeit short on in-depth analysis. Provides two things: a nice retrospective encapsulation of the 90's Britpop scene for those who followed the acts of that era at the time, and a good jumping-off point for those whose knowledge of Britpop begins and ends with "wonderwall" and "common people".
Lesson learned: Jarvis Cocker is the man, Damon Albarn is world-weary, browbeaten and articulate, and the Gallaghers are characters unto themselves.
