Review of Little Women (1994) by Carrie R — 12 Oct 2008
This is, hands down, one of the most beautiful films ever made. (And more proof that some of us have been in love with Christian Bale looooong before he was Batman.).
Ryder's interplays with Alvarado, and especially Danes and 12-year-old Kirsten Dunst is quick witted; old-fashioned without sounding hokey; bringing an unironic sentimentality that has ever won over not a few male fans.
Add to this great supporting actors, a musical score that will make you weep, and flawless production design... You have a perfect movie.
