Review of Little Women (1994) by Paul B — 15 Feb 2013
Having been raised in a home with five women, Little Women is a timeless film I could always watch for a jumpstart of nostalgia. I remember a week or so after another Christian Bale film was released, 3:10 to Yuma, Roger Ebert was talking about how much he liked the film, and in the middle of his commentary he said "Christian Bale, a tremendously talented actor, always plays in films where he's getting getting beaten up and dirty, part of me wants to see him settle down a bit in a romantic comedy or something.
" Ebert has obviously never seen Little Women. This film somehow brought together a hand selected all-star cast of wonderfully talented young actors before they were all-stars, featuring not only a performance from Christian Bale, but also Winona Ryder, Kirstin Dunst, and Claire Danes.
