Review of Little Darlings (1980) by Gary G — 18 Dec 2008
(3 stars out of 5) This coming of age movie in summer camp was wrong on so many levels--to the point that it almost came off like a teen smoking propaganda film, the lesbian undertones run rampant throughout, and don't get me started on the romanticized statutory rape storyline.
It was also more than a little ironic that the virginal pure-as-snow lead has been repeatedly busted for trying to buy crack and meth only a few short months ago. Matt Dillon also stars as the douchey teen who's trying to get into his female clone-Kristy McNichol's pants.
The phrase fucking a mirror comes to mind. It was just creepy. While it may sound like I hated the movie, I didn't, I've seen worse. It was just so bad it was good, you know? This movie is best viewed in a room full of bitchy, witty gay men (and possibly women).
