(2006) Little Children.
ADULT DRAMA.
Based on a novel written by Tom Perrotta who also co-written the screenplay with the director Todd Field which has similar themes to "American Beauty" about supposedly happy adults issues with'impotency' as well as other people with odd behaviors. Although this movie has a considerable amount of characters, it centers much of the story on the ammoral relationship of Kate Winslet as Sarah and Patrick Wilson as Brad who're mature adults, unsatisfied with their love lives with their current partners began to ellicit an affair with one another. 'Little Children' as the title indicates is nothing but a backdrop to the complicated themes that arise with adults such as the approach and response to allegedly convicted child predator Ronnie played by Jackie Earle Haley(Bad News Bears) and the leader of the children watch group led by Larry played by Noah Emmerich.
Adult themes with 'redemption' but takes a long time to get their for a film that's more than 2 hours, nominated for three Oscars including for 'Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role' for Kate Winslet, 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role' for Jackie Earle Haley and 'Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay'!
2.5 out of 4.
