Review of Little Big Man (1970) by Jeffrey M — 28 Oct 2011
An entertaining motion picture that I saw on opening day in December 1970. I have always been a fan of Westerns, and a Western with Dustin Hoffman (fresh from "The Graduate" two years earlier) as its star was a big drawing factor in the success of this film.
The story is narrated throughout, with commentary in appropriate places, by 121-year-old Jack. It presents historical situations and characters with drama, humor, pathos and empathy, and because it's so plainly entertaining (which is what a movie is supposed to be, right?) it quickly became one of my favorite all-time pictures.
I liked it a lot!
