Review of Lionheart (1990) by Baurushan J — 10 Jul 2013
Another Jean-Claude Van Damme movie where I have explored just about everything to give full marks and that movie has multiple names: Lionheart, Wrong Bet, Full Contact and Absent Without Leave but the most commonly title known is Lionheart.
So the story starts with Lyon Gaultier played by Jean-Claude Van Damme who escapes from a prison in the desert in North Africa to see his older brother. When he finds out that his brother has been burned to death by some thugs, Lyon's only hope is his sister-in-law and daughter-in-law and so he goes in search for them both.
Whilst on the search, comes across a circle of men surrounding a duel of illegal street brawling and betting. Lyon takes the next challenge and easily wins one man named Joshua's bet who he takes to an underworld illegal brawling tournament where he keeps beating down men after men which gains him the name "Lionheart" so that he can win enough money to take his remaining family away from the underworld along with Joshua.
This movie gives us all the kicks and punches we need from Jean-Claude Van Damme who had a perfect intro by the way, gives us all the characters from the story and gives us to explore from the movie. Lionheart gets a 10/10.
