Review of Lion of the Desert (1981) by Trevor R — 14 Jan 2008
Omar Mukhtar's 20 year guerilla war against Mussolini's Italian's in Libya makes for a great tale. The film is perfectly cast, with a brilliant performance by Oliver Reed as General Graziani, who was chosen by Mussiolini to put an end to the war.
..at any cost. Great location work and wonderful Cinematography by Jack Hidyard. Another great stand out is the stuntwork by 2nd unit Director Glenn Randall. The battle scenes were spectacular! Worth a look for History buffs of this era.
