Review of Lincoln (2012) by Graeme M — 27 Jul 2013
Just watched Lincoln for the first time today surprised I took this long to watch it as I have everything Daniel Day Lewis has ever done. I was thoroughly enthralled i'm not hugely educated on American history but done enough research before hand to garner some sort of opinion on what was important.
I found Daniel Day Lewis almost spooky as The 3rd President and yet hugely warming and likable was glad to see that Spielberg took a different angle on the story focusing on the 13th amendment being passed and the strain this had on he and Mary todds relationship.
I thought Tommy Lee Jones performance as Thaddeus Stevens was great and enjoyed seeing cameo after cameo of different talented actors playing there small part in this huge project for anyone that hasn't seen this masterful biopic I would hugely recommend.
