Review of Lincoln (2012) by Tyler R — 12 Oct 2013
Once in a while, a film comes along that stops you dead in your tracks and gives you a couple of hours of absolute magic that you can't help but admire. Lincoln follows President Abraham Lincoln's struggle to pass the amendment to end slavery.
Now, to talk about the individual actors and their performances would be absurd because damn near everyone does an exceptional job. However, the two most notable performances comes from Daniel Day Lewis and Tommy Lee Jones.
Day Lewis gives a subtle, yet powerful, portrayal to Lincoln, and he nails. Jones on the other hand nails the role of Thadeus and offers up a lot of the film's lighter moments. The film can seem like a stage play at times, but overall, it's highly enjoyable.
