Review of Lincoln (2012) by Marty K — 01 Feb 2014
A deserved Oscar for Daniel Day Lewis in this one. He portrayed a dignified and determined Lincoln. Tommy Lee Jones was not going to steal his spotlight in this one.
The film as a whole has a very "rustic" feel and look to it, and it adds to the watching of the movie. It does not delve into a war film, despite the historical time and events, so it is a very much a portrayal of the man himself. Don't go expecting an American Civil war version of Platoon in other words.
