Review of Lincoln (2012) by Vincent W — 19 Jul 2014
Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" felt more like an educational docudrama than a gripping feature film. Daniel Day-Lewis, though, gives a commanding performance as Lincoln. Plods As others have noted, this film's title is rather misleading as arguably the prime focus of Spielberg's work is the Thirteenth Amendment more so than it is the title character.
Uninformed viewers might therefore be disappointed in the limited scope of the film's plot. Though I, myself, knew in advance of its narrow focus, I was disappointed in the film nonetheless.
