A film defined by the performance within, the captivating and precise, but yet also subtle depiction of Lincoln's determination as he battles through personal as well as political tribulations brings dimension and captures the essence of an immortal, historic American figure.
Steven Spielberg's cinematography is stark and beautiful as usual and Tommy Lee Jone's character also offers a compelling, likable supporting role.
