Back in the 2000s, Disney was going through a phase where they had gotten bored with their usual conventions and were experimenting with different things. Because of this, "Lilo & Stitch" is one of the studio's more unsentimental and down-to-earth films.
And while it is better than some of the other animated movies released during this period, it's far from the best.
