Review of Like Water for Chocolate (1992) by Don S — 07 May 2013
Watching this movie reminded me like watching Cinderella and a typical Mexican telenovela because of the way the mother was. Tita carries a magical gift from her ancestors that gives emotions to food and irresistible taste.
Unfortunately because of a tradition she cannot marry Pedro, so Pedro decides to marry one of her sister to stay close to her. The story has its ups and down, the mother of course gets in the way of everything.
The ending is quite strange but I understand its significance of it and its meaning.
