Review of Like Father, Like Son (2013) by Ninon M — 22 Jul 2017
Much poetry and delicacy in a touching story. 'Like Father, Like Son' is an intereresting reflection dealing with parenthood, more precisely fatherhood in a very relevant way, without trying to deliver an unnecessary moral message.
Moreover, if this drama may seem pale at first sight in terms of style and entertainment (also regarding the colours of the film), it largely compensates with its fittingly manner to approach its themes, its heartbreaking performances from its excellent actors, and Koreeda's always intelligent eye.
