Review of Like Dandelion Dust (2009) by Ron N — 13 Sep 2010
We watched this together and it was a good movie, harder to watch if you are a parent, because the story centers around two couples, the birth parents, who decide they want their child given up for adoption back, and the adopted parents who are the real parents--the only parents Joey the young son has ever known.
Very heart tugging. Very well made smaller scope movie. The scenes of Haiti had to have been filmed before the earthquake that is poignant in is own right. Liked the music too. Mira Sorvino and Barry Pepper play the 'damaged' couple, birth parents, and they play them both grippingly real and sympathetically at the same time.
Cole Hauer and Abby Brammell play the 'well-off' couple who think they have it all, are to be envied. What I like here is the 'christian' values here are implicit in the story and the characters, real-life, and not preachy in your face.
Worth a see.
