Review of Like Dandelion Dust (2009) by Dana A — 27 Mar 2011
This was a very empty film and by this I mean there wasn't much plot, the heart of the story was really missing. Instead of slowly telling us a story, we were thrown bits and an piece. Emotions were forced and I didn't really care much about the characters.
I cried because I was told to cry not because I felt something. If this was a made for TV movie airing on Lifetime then I wouldn't have much compliant. However this was a feature film, therefore, I'm holding it to a much higher standard.
This was rushed and I really don't know why. The actors were superb. Barry Pepper and Mira Sorvino really became their characters both emotionally and physically. I would have loved more of them, more or their backstory and what happened during their relationship to really make it crumble and just why she stood by him.
Instead I got flat surface answers. I wanted to like this film, I really wanted to like this film but instead, it was just a let-down.
