Review of Like Crazy (2011) by Josh M — 10 Mar 2012
Love is a many splendid thing but it also is complicated. It is fragile; easily breakable. Blissful and thrilling but also devastating.
The film is very genuine and naturalistic. I've been in long-distance relationships, not like what these two lovers go through, but they are very hard because when you're together there is so much love and splendor but when you're apart--- you miss them and want them like crazy, and such senses eat and tear you down physically and mentally.
A lot of the dialogue and feelings expressed were improvised during filming to give it a realistic tone. It works magnificently. You can see yourself a lot in the characters; feel for them.
A beautiful film.
