LIKE CRAZY, 2010.

A film with an interesting plot outline that starts off really well but unfortunately ties itself up in plot shaped knots and falls apart in the last third.

A film ultimately about the difficulties of long term relationships and bureaucratic red tape.

A pair of students, a British girl Anna (Felicity Jones) and an American boy Jacob (Anton Yelchin) fall in love while studying in LA. However once they finish university, Anna overstays her student Visa by staying with Jacob. When she returns to the US following a short trip back to Britain, she is refused entry back to the US for previously violating her visa terms.

As the two try different ways of being together, the rest of the film explores their changing feelings, and the strains of being apart or together for only fleeting visits.

This huge hit of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival could've been a great modern romance film but in the end it's only an average one.

6/10.
