Review of Lights Out (2016) by Matt A — 20 Aug 2016
Another case of the trailer revealing a little too much. But that doesn't make it any less scary or unsettling. There are a lot of jump scares but its a genuine scare, there aren't any cheap set ups and some of them are unpredictable.
The story is simple but works very well and the performances are decent. Its another short film that works in its favour. Its not a film that's been left open for a sequel and its ending isn't much of a happy one.
Very enjoyable and needs to be watched in the cinema for the full effect. The supernatural presence is also quite scary and helps that you don't see much of it and when you do, it does make you worried for the people its stalking.
.. Worth watching.
