Review of Lights Out (2016) by Simon T — 11 Oct 2017
The best horror movies know that pacing and logic are essential to build suspense. This effort squanders both by tying a ludicrous plot to a series of increasingly tiresome jump scares. There's little original here: bits of Babadook, the Paranormal Activity series etc etc.
Compared to the similar but far superior Don't Breathe or Get Out, this is small potatoes.
