Not horrible. Dialogue and acting is pretty bad. Tobe hooper is not a good director. Some cool themes and effects though. Naked alien gives it that half star. Texas chainsaw massacre and salems lot are both excellent movies.
Outside of that he's a "nigga got eat" director. He's billed as director on poltergeist but that's got Spielberg written all over it.
