Review of Lifeboat (1944) by Liam D — 30 Mar 2012
Although not one of Hitchcock's more celebrated films Lifeboat is as captivating and dramatic as of his more popular work. Directing a film set in one location leads to the challenge of keeping the audience entertained, a challenge to which Hitchcock succeeds.
Whilst arguably filled with propaganda, Lifeboat was filmed during a time of aversion towards the Germans. Particularly due to its single location set, Lifeboat is a ground breaking and entertaining film.
