Review of Life of the Party (2018) by Sean F — 09 Aug 2018
This will be my first review and commentary over a movie and it is not for good cause. I have never felt the need, but when things go this bad and the average rating is a 5, something must be said. I mean a 5, that is meant for an average film, is it not? Yes the Totmatometer said 38% and 41% liked it, but those must be from friends, family or those with the believe that everyone needs a trophy.
Well for this one I would like to nominate for a Razzie. Why racquetball? Why on a bike through campus? Miss on the "mean girls" - too high school bitchy, miss on the "mean girls" suddenly being sorry, miss on the boob punch being a noteworthy moment for reconciliation, miss on the daughters understanding and willingness to attend college (with her - a return to college story otherwise seems like a manageable plot), miss on the break into dance fight, miss on the graphics which had her, was that a reverse worm? Scene cut, scene cut, scene cut, I hope the set director had some time off after this one.
The world loves Melissa and so do I but I dare say this film had too much which prevented her from killing moments like she can. Try again crew, F Out.
