Ever since I read the book, I've wondered if they'd be able to bring it to the screen. In that sense, I'd have to say that I think Ang Lee did a great job. The movie was visually stunning: I'd dare call it "magical" in that regard.

My gripe is that I think the first part of it was a bit too long, which made the whole movie too long. And I have no idea how Ang Lee beat Spielberg for the Best Director Oscar. A good movie with some great parts.

Definitely worth seeing. Spoiler alert- you'll want to get a cat so you can have a Richard Parker in your life.
